Ferroalloys

Alloy addition & melt chemistry — line drawing
Alloy addition & melt chemistry

We review ferroalloy assay, residual limits and sizing against target melt chemistry and addition practice.

Material characterization and acceptance

We assess ferroalloys by alloying-element assay, carbon and residual-element limits, size distribution and lot identification. Addition practice depends on melt chemistry, dissolution and recovery. Each alloy type requires its own specification; the published source labels do not establish complete contractual grades.

01

Process compatibility and end-use requirements

Alloying steel

We compare element assay and residual limits with target heat chemistry; dosage must account for process-specific recovery and the existing melt analysis.

Deoxidation

We review the selected alloy’s deoxidizing function and residual contribution within the refining sequence; alloy types are not substitutes without metallurgical assessment.

Foundry chemistry control

We align alloy composition and size with furnace practice and casting chemistry; inoculation, alloying and deoxidation are distinct metallurgical functions.
