We review Fe, gangue chemistry, moisture and particle size for burden preparation and ironmaking.
Material characterization and acceptance
We define iron ore inquiries by Fe content, gangue chemistry, moisture and particle-size distribution. Fines and lump ore require different burden preparation and handling arrangements; mineralogy and reducibility also influence downstream suitability. Grade, sampling basis, acceptance limits and availability require contractual confirmation.
Process compatibility and end-use requirements
Blast furnace ironmaking
We review Fe, silica, alumina, phosphorus and sulphur against the furnace burden specification, together with size distribution and degradation characteristics.
Sinter and pellet production
We distinguish sinter feed from pelletizing feed by particle-size distribution, chemistry and preparation requirements; beneficiation and agglomeration suitability require plant-specific assessment.
Direct reduced iron
We assess proposed direct-reduction feed against metallization-route requirements, gangue limits, reducibility and physical strength. High Fe content alone does not establish DRI suitability.
